Text:

Mr. Censor; (excuse me for addressing you this way)
I am Arnold Schoenberg, composer of some reputation and this is a translation of a poem of LORD BYRON, the great English poet, who wrote this after Napoleon had been beaten and dethroned.
He called it:
Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte
and it is to be found among his works in every dition.
It deals with Napoleon like we would have dealt with Hitler if we had caught him alive.
I have composed this poem and it was performed in New York about two years ago and broadcast from coast to coast. This was in the original English text.
But now Mr. Herman[n] Scherchen of world renown is going to perform it in Zurich, Switzerland in March, and broadcast it.
I inform you about these circumstances in order to ask you not to delay the arrival of this text in Zurich without any necessity.
Thank you cordially in advance.
Most respectfully, yours
