December 10, 1949.

Mr Walter Hinrichsen
President
C.F. Peters Corporation
1109 Carnegie Hall
881 Seventh Avenue
New York 19, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Hinrichsen:
I think your last letter cleared the matter and I agree that we can now conclude a contract.
There are only two things which I would like to have modified. The one: that there should be a date mentioned until which I have to receive the $500.
And the second point is that I suggest you have the engraving made here. Not only is it much less expensive, but I am quite sure that the man, who is excellent, will do a job worthy of Peters Edition. Besides, if you want, I can ask him to make one page as a sample so that you can judge it for yourself. It would also have the great advantage that I could make the corrections very fast. He would perhaps deliver me perhaps every secod day proof corrections, so that I would not have so much at one time. I suggest that you reconsider this point and especially let him make one page, (I will select a very difficult one) as sample so that you can see how good he is.
After you have made your decision and sent me a contract to sign, I will send you the manuscript, or if you accept my suggestion we will give it to the engraver here.
I am looking forward to your answer, and am with cordial greetings,
Sincerely yours,

P.S. It might also happen that the manuscript requires explanation, verbally, which I can do here by telephone, thus avoiding unnecessary errors and corrections.

R.H.
