| Text: | ARNOLD SCHOENBERG 116 N. ROCKINGHAM AVENUE LOS ANGELES 49, CALIFORNIA June 25, 1949 Mr. Walter Hinrichsen President C.F. Peters Edition 881 Seventh Ave. New York City, N.Y. Dear Mr. Hinrichsen: I hope that in the meantime you have received the letter wherein both Mr. Schoenberg and I thank you for your so generous offer to send us some of the excellent editions listed in C.F. Peters catalogue. But there is so much a musician would like to have that it is hard to know where to start. Even Mr. Schoenberg who has an extensive library finds many things lacking when reading through the catalogue. Enclosed you will find a list of the works he would very much like to have--of course not all at once, but every now and then, whenever you are inclined. As for myself, not possessing a large collection of music, I find it difficult to make a choice. May I send you my list a little later this week after thinking over carefully myselections? Thanking you once again for your generous gift, I remain with most cordial greetings, also from Mr. Schoenberg. Very sincerely yours, Richard Hoffmann (Secretary to Arnold Schoenberg) Enclosure | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
