Abstract: Author: "Analysis of the important early one-movement tonal works
of Schoenberg--opp. 4, 5, 7, and 9--has yet to be done. Agreement
about the origin of the form in the four-movement sonata did not
prevent differences in the more detailed analysis of the form. Schoenberg
was forced to combine a static-symmetrical form type (sonata first-movement)
with a dynamic-developing form type (complete sonata), something
that he first perfected in the 'Kammersymphonie' no. 1."
